Sublime

This piece isn't the first of its kind, but it's as yet the leading representation of the new style of artwork I'm putting out. I'm using a new process, generating the backgrounds with the Galaxy Include file for POV-Ray, using planets rendered in Celestia (until I get home to use LunarCell in Photoshop), and rendering the ships at maximum antialiasing settings.

At a glance, it may seem like I'm up to the same old tricks, but I hope that, upon closer inspection, it would seem as though I've improved since I started so long ago.

I hope you approve.

Newest

You'll find a bit of repetition in here, I'll admit, but that's just because I like to keep originals for reference (in spite of their low quality) and enjoy showing the improvements that develop in my work as time progresses.

Assuming you all agree that there are improvements in the first place.

Random Favourites

Yeah, most of them are Star Trek, but I do :+fav: some other types of work as well, I'm just more picky with other genres.

Desktop 03-24-09

I don't update this particularly often, but my wallpaper changes regularly, especially when I come out with new pieces of artwork I'm particularly fond of. Matter of fact, my current wallpaper is actually my featured deviation.

Production Reduction

Mon Jun 1, 2009, 9:18 PM
As if my production hasn't dipped low enough already, I'm on an Air Force base in Wyoming for training until June 19. I probably won't be putting anything up sadly. Sorry.

The Avenger has got to be one of the most beautiful and original meshes that i have ever seen, and I've seen a ton of Trek ship meshes. Bravo my man! I wish I were half as talented as you!
Forgive me, but what kind of ship is the Avenger? An exploratory (I doubt it, from it's design), a science vessel (again, unlikely) or a warship (Most likely in my book), or is it something else entirely?

--
Owata!
Originally it was supposed to be a Cruiser designed for combat in the Dominion War, but as the war drew to a close, the design was shelved and the original prototype remained unfinished. Eventually, it was determined that a new science vessel was required to replace the Intrepid Class, so the Avenger design was refitted to include various sensor arrays, primarily a 5 deck array in the forward engineering section. The first vessel of her class, the Avenger herself, retained the name she was given when the class was first designed, but all successive ships were named for scientists and explorers.

It's pretty freaking sweet.
That is really cool. When ST:Online comes out, I'll have to name a ship after the Avenger on the server I'll play on.

The three questions to consider:
Who are you?
What do you want?
Why are you here?

~92% of teens would be dead if Abercrombie and Hollister said it wasn't cool to breathe. Put this in your sig if you are part of the 8% that would be laughing.
Thankyou for the :+fav: its very much appreciated on this one. I've a few others with your craft but they went in the scraps bucket before getting anywhere near the upload stage. Its one of those designs that if the shot isn't 100% exactly it doesn't look right.

Believe me, I understand completely. Like the Galaxy Class, it's limited in its effective angles.

Go Pirates! Looks like a different team this year! And the Phillies and Mets are seeming to be helping out the Pirate endeavor withtheir scrambling efforts!;)

Hahaha yes indeed. Can't say much good about the last 4 games (curse the Brewers) but tonight looks like we're getting back on track. This year we'll break the streak of losing! Last time we had a winning season, we led the NL in ERA, and we're doing so now, so...*knocks on wood*

Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero, he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a dark knight.

Derek: Well, whoever said that didn't have as much plastique as we do.
